Andy was larger than life without ever losing sight of the person in front of him. From Metropolis in Fremantle and Discovery Darwin to the Public Order Response Unit, NT Fight Series, Personal Protection Strategies and humID, he kept turning relationships into practical help. He could be formidable, tender, stubborn, cheeky and deeply generous—often in the same afternoon.

The grand achievements mattered, but so did the Thursday haircut, the young bloke at Dani’s Sunday table and the ridiculous dance Sharon Kimberley remembered whenever an office needed cheering up.
Friends became brothers
Fruit from Astro became friendship, brotherhood and the shared family of Crystal, Valentina and Dante. A first shift with Josh King became years of laughter, purpose and calls filled with advice or ribbing.
Concern became action
With Josh King, Andrew Sauer, Sharon Kimberley, Benjamin Smith and many others, Andy kept asking what could be made safer, more useful and more human—and then helped build it.
